The Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Economics is a four-year double degree program consisting of 32 courses (192 UOC). It includes Commerce Integrated First Year courses, MyBCom portfolio courses, a Commerce major, Economics core courses, Economics electives, optional one or two Economics majors, and UNSW Business electives. You must also complete mandatory Work Integrated Learning (at least one course credit such as an internship or practicum) and a Final Year Synthesis course.
For the Commerce component, available majors include Accounting, AI in Business and Society, Behavioural Economics, Business Analytics, Business Economics, Business Sustainability and Social Impact, Cybersecurity Management, Finance, FinTech, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, International Business, Marketing, Marketing Analytics, and Taxation. Yes, work experience is built into both degrees. The BCom includes guaranteed Work Integrated Learning, meaning you can undertake internships in Australia or internationally as part of your degree. Economics also offers a range of work integrated learning experiences, including internships, industry consultancy projects, practicums, or collaborating on real social entrepreneurship projects. Many of these experiences are offered through UNSW Business School's industry partners, including Accenture, Suncorp, Grant Thornton, Flight Centre Travel Group, Tata Group, Synpulse, and more.
For domestic students in 2026, the lowest selection rank (ATAR plus adjustment factors) is 97.0. The lowest ATAR before adjustment factors were applied was 77.0. For A Levels applicants, the entry score is 17.0, and for IB Diploma applicants, the entry score is 41.0. Assumed knowledge is Mathematics Advanced. Various adjustment factor schemes are available, including HSC Plus (up to 5 points), Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (up to 5 points), and the Educational Access Scheme (1–10 points).
Yes, you can take your Commerce studies to the next level with an additional one-year Honours degree, where you'll gain advanced knowledge and research skills in your chosen area of business. You'll have the opportunity to be mentored by top-tier researchers and work on industry-relevant projects while undertaking a significant research thesis. An optional fifth year is also available for an Economics research project leading to an Honours qualification.
