Bond offers 10 areas to choose from for your major/minor specialisations: advertising, communication & society, corporate storytelling, creative writing, digital media, film & television, journalism, media studies, social media, and public relations.
Yes. You may choose to intern in-house with an organisation or with an advertising or public relations agency. Past students have interned at Edelman, Ogilvy PR, Channel 7, Channel 10, and the Gold Coast Bulletin. On campus, you'll create blogs, podcasts, media stories and websites for publication, and produce advertising schedules, public relations campaigns, and social media strategies for real clients.
Yes, the Bachelor of Communication is accredited by the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
In your first year, you'll begin your communication major or minor right away, taking three subjects in it. You'll also take foundational communication subjects such as Strategic Speaking and Writing, Communication in the Workplace, and Digital Media and Society. In addition, you'll complete Bond's three unique core subjects that ensure every student develops skills in critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and integrity, and you will begin Beyond Bond, a practical, activity-based compulsory professional development program.
Students gain access to state-of-the-art facilities, including one of the largest film/TV/digital media production facilities in south-east Queensland, and learn from leading industry practitioners and consultants.
