Common Questions
The indicative ATAR for the Bachelor of Communication is 70. However, this course doesn't require an ATAR for entry — applicants can also apply using the Creative Humanities Portfolio Entry pathway or meet academic requirements through alternative pathways such as an AQF Cert IV, University Preparation Course, or Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $15,450 (Commonwealth supported place). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $37,700.
Students are required to complete 240 credit points of core and core option units and 120 credit points of elective units, totalling 360 credit points over 3 years full-time. Students that complete a 4-unit, subject-based Elective Sequence may nominate to have this recorded on their transcript as a minor in the subject area.
Yes. In SAH2650 Professional Experience: Internship, students can choose a workplace-based track (minimum 100 hours of professional placement) or a project-based track working on a real-world challenge with an industry partner. In SAH3650 Professional Placement 1 and SAH3660 Professional Placement 2, students gain relevant work experience by undertaking a minimum of 225 hours (per unit) of professional placement with a public, private or not-for-profit host organisation.
The Bachelor of Communication is available at ECU's City Campus and Online for both Semester 1 and Semester 2, in both full-time and part-time modes. International students can also study at the Sri Lanka campus full-time in both semesters, or online full-time and part-time.
