CIHE's Bachelor of Community Services course is yet to be recognised by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA). CIHE has submitted an application for professional accreditation and its current status is 'pending approval'.
The BCS integrates theoretical learning with practical, hands-on experience through work integrated learning and practicum placements. Specifically, the course includes two placement units: Placement 1 (CS205) in Semester 4 and Placement 2 (CS304) in Semester 6, which is worth 20 credit points.
CIHE uses a range of assessment tasks including quizzes, group work, case-studies and scenario-based activities, reports and exams. Assessment methods also include practical demonstrations, reflective writing, and oral presentations. Throughout the course, achievement of unit and course learning outcomes will be assessed through a range of formative and summative assessment activities, with lecturers aiming to provide timely and constructive feedback.
This course has a CRICOS Course Code of 116233H; however, it is currently not on offer to international students in 2026. International students should check with CIHE for future availability.
The guaranteed entry ATAR score for the Bachelor of Community Services is 50, applicable for Domestic students only.
