Yes, students have the opportunity to seek a Work Integrated Learning placement with an industry partner. Students are required to complete a placement equivalent to one semester of full-time study, with a minimum of 300 hours over a maximum of 17 weeks. Typical full-time placements usually comprise 450 hours of professional placement. Students approved for WIL enrol in CSI3750 Professional Placement (Computing and Security) instead of the Applied Project unit.

The estimated first year indicative fee for Commonwealth supported students is AUD $8,950. This is a guide only, as at ECU you pay for the individual units you enrol in, not an overall course fee, so the total cost will vary depending on what units you choose. ECU fees are adjusted annually.
In your first year you will be introduced to programming principles, systems analysis, computer security, mathematics for computing, computer fundamentals, database systems, and applied communications. In the following years you will advance into topics such as data structures, object-oriented programming with C++, artificial intelligence, project methods and professionalism, distributed systems, and programming languages and paradigms, as well as units from your chosen major in Cyber Security or Software Engineering.
