Yes. The Bachelor of Computer Science at Flinders University is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level. Professional ICT courses accredited by the Australian Computer Society are recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord, and graduates meet the academic requirements for attaining chartered status as ICT professionals.
Yes. In your final year, you will undertake a 12-week Industry Placement as part of the core curriculum, giving you hands-on professional experience in the tech industry. The degree also features hands-on projects with a strong focus on real-world application throughout all three years.
You can study at Flinders University's Tonsley Campus or City Campus. Both campuses offer March and July start dates, while the City Campus also offers an October intake. Note that for students admitted to the Tonsley offering, Year 1 will be completed at the Bedford Park Campus and Years 2 and 3 at Tonsley Campus.
Yes. You can choose the Honours pathway in Computer Science (SATAC: 224431), which allows you to deepen your understanding of computing technologies while developing advanced research, problem-solving, and project design skills. The Honours year prepares you for professional roles that require high-level expertise and provides a strong foundation for further study, including entry into a PhD.
If you do not have an ATAR, there are several alternative entry options. You may be eligible through a GPA of 4.0, a STAT score of 150.0, or a TAFE/VET Certificate IV or above. The prerequisite for all entry pathways is SACE Stage Two General Mathematics or equivalent, with no assumed knowledge required. Flinders also offers a range of admission pathway options for prospective students.
