The Dean's Scholar program offers a more challenging and enriching educational experience for high-achieving students who want to perform above the level normally expected. As a Dean's Scholar, you will receive special privileges such as the opportunity to complete an honours level subject, and you will be encouraged to continue your studies through the completion of honours and research programs. Places are limited each year.
The minimum Selection Rank for guaranteed entry (or for consideration if this course has limited places) is 95. Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustments you are eligible to receive, based on factors such as the subjects you are studying, the location of your school, or your eligibility for equity and access schemes.
Students can choose from the following majors: Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Cyber Security, Digital Systems Security, Game and Mobile Development, and Software Engineering.
Yes, the Bachelor of Computer Science (Dean's Scholar) is accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
Yes, current students who have achieved a weighted average mark (WAM) of 80 at the end of one year of full-time study in a relevant degree may apply to transfer to the Dean's Scholar degree.
