You need to have successfully completed a 3 year Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or a cognate discipline from an Australian higher education institution, with a minimum credit average (e.g. 60% at Swinburne, 65% at other universities) or equivalent GPA.
Yes. Applicants are required to gain prior agreement for the proposed Honours research project from a Project Supervision panel before applying. The panel needs at least two supervisors, one coordinating and one associate. You can browse the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) project and supervisor list to find suitable supervisors.
Applicants must satisfy one of the following English language requirements: an IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0, or Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with an overall score of 65% and all skills 65% or above, or equivalent measures as outlined in Swinburne's English language requirements.
The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) is a 1 year full-time program, available at the Hawthorn campus with intakes in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Yes. Credit transfer is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course, with applicants assessed on a case-by-case basis. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available, allowing students to gain credit towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training, also assessed on a case-by-case basis.
