The Standard program includes all the same subjects and learning as the IDeA program but follows a traditional university study path. The IDeA (Industry Degree Academy) program combines university study with real industry experience through a cadetship, meaning you study and work at the same time. The IDeA program is only available to domestic students and is offered for Autumn session intake only, whereas the Standard program is open to both domestic and international students and is typically offered for both Autumn and Spring session intakes.
For 2026, the indicative first-year tuition fee for government-supported domestic students is $9,537.00 AUD, and the indicative total tuition fee over the full three-year degree is $29,332.00 AUD. All offers for domestic undergraduate students are for Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP), meaning the Australian Government contributes to education costs. Eligible students can defer payment through HECS-HELP or pay upfront each session.
Core subjects include Communication for IT Professionals, Programming 1 and 2, Web Systems, Business Requirements Modelling, Network Fundamentals, Database Fundamentals, Project Management and the Professional, Professional Practice in Computing, Discrete Mathematics, Data Structures and Algorithms, Theory of Computing Science, Mathematics 1, Advanced Algorithms, and a Capstone subject. You can see all subjects and majors in the UTS Handbook.
Yes, the Standard Program of the Bachelor of Computing Science (C10476) is available to both domestic and international students. However, the IDeA (Industry Degree Academy) program is only offered to local (domestic) students. International students must meet the English language requirements, including an IELTS Academic overall score of 6.5 with a writing score of 6.0, or equivalent in other accepted tests.
UTS is ranked #3 in Australia for Computer Science (Academic Ranking of World Universities, ARWU 2025) and in the Top 20 in the world for Computer Science and Engineering (Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023). Students have access to world-class facilities including a Tech Lab, the Faculty of Engineering and IT Building, and library spaces that support future-focused learning and high-impact research.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
