Common Questions
Yes, the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) is professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB), Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This means your qualification is recognised for practice in over 50 countries, providing a global passport for work in this field in Australia and overseas.
Yes, there is an accelerated learning option available at the Waterfront (Geelong) campus. By undertaking selected units in Trimester 3, you can complete the course in three years of full-time study instead of four.
The course is available at Burwood (Melbourne) and Waterfront (Geelong). However, students enrolled at Burwood should note that units are being phased in: first year units are available from 2026, second year units from 2027, third year units from 2028, and fourth year units from 2029. The accelerated program is available at the Waterfront campus only.
Students can undertake industry placements to kickstart professional experience while building professional networks, technical knowledge and skills. There are also opportunities for site visits, international study tours, and exchange programs. Students will collaborate with Deakin's architecture students, and can apply to undertake a discipline-specific industry placement as an elective option through the SEBE WIL program.
The course covers a broad range of areas including building economics and law, building practice, building technology, measurement and estimating, project management, digital construction, sustainable built environment, and quantity surveying. You will develop skills applicable to construction management, quantity surveying and property development.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
