The course offers a choice of eight majors: Aviation, Criminology, Cyber Security, Data Science, Law in Business, Management, Politics, and Professional Studies. Students may also complete a 6-unit Minor in Psychology plus 2 Elective units in place of a Major, subject to Course Coordinator approval.
For domestic students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $12,500 (Commonwealth supported). For international students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $43,700. Note that ECU fees are adjusted annually and you pay for the individual units you enrol in, not an overall course fee.
The indicative ATAR is 70. Academic admission requirements (Band 3) apply, and requirements can also be satisfied through an AQF Cert IV, completing 0.25 EFTSL of bachelor-level study at an Australian higher education provider, an Undergraduate Certificate, Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, University Preparation Course, Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. English language requirements include IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 6.0, or other approved qualifications.
The course is available at the Joondalup campus and Online. Both full-time and part-time study options are available in Semester 1 and Semester 2. International students can study full-time at Joondalup in both semesters, while part-time online study is also available.
You will study terrorism and international security, intelligence foundations, how to use technology to secure assets, protect critical and national infrastructure, and employ security management techniques. After the first year, you will specialise in countering terrorism threats. Graduate learning outcomes include assimilating broad disciplinary knowledge, using structured thinking to analyse complex problems, applying digital technologies to communicate security information, constructing professional communications, and demonstrating autonomy and judgement in supporting societal wellbeing.
