Students can focus on their chosen discipline which includes Creative Arts, Dance or Performance Making.
All applicants are required to have completed a Bachelor degree in dance, performing arts, visual arts, fine arts, screen production or creative writing (with equivalents considered), and are usually required to have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70% or higher. All applicants must attend an interview and submit a written outline of a research proposal, and Dance applicants must also attend an audition.
Yes, students may have the opportunity to undertake work integrated learning through two units — Creative Practice 1 and Creative Practice 2. The workplace will be determined by alignment to the research project and/or discipline. For example, dance students may on occasion have the opportunity to observe rehearsal with WAB or participate in a development of a new performance with Co3 or undertake a short residency at the PICA or the Perth Film Studios. There is also scope for the Honours year to incorporate an international study tour or industry placements.
For domestic students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $9,550 (Commonwealth supported). For international students, the estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $40,650.
This course has a modified timetable, and students may be required to attend evening and weekend workshops, rehearsals and performances. Some of these may be at locations external to ECU.
