About This Course

A creative arts degree immerses you in the creative industries and challenges you to think deeply and broadly about the changing world and the role the arts play within it. Throughout the degree you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a leading creative professional in your chosen field. In the final year of your degree, you will work on a major creative project with the goal of submitting it for professional publication, exhibition or presentation. Various artist and writer-in-residence programs take place throughout your degree and you will be encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. This degree features UOW's flexible structure, which gives you a foundation of core expertise, a major in the area that relates to your degree, alongside a flexible zone you can use to explore a second major, pick up two minors or explore electives across the university, all within a standard three-year timeline (or part-time equivalent). From 2027, this degree provides the opportunity to complete both a discipline major and a second major from the General Schedule of Majors.

The minimum score for guaranteed entry (or for consideration if this course has limited places) is a Selection Rank of 65.
Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustments you are eligible to receive.
Other high-school qualifications considered for entry include: GCE A-Levels, New Zealand NCEA Level 3, and overseas senior secondary qualifications comparable to Australian qualifications.
For higher education study, you need to have completed at least half a year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) at a Bachelor's degree level or higher.
If you have completed or partially completed studies at an approved university or tertiary institution, you may be eligible for entry to UOW; you'll need to provide academic records, and your course must be at least one-sixth complete.
All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency; if English is not your first language, you must meet the University's English Language Requirements.
Accepted international English test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses.
UOW's Woolyungah Indigenous Centre's Indigenous Admissions Program (IAP) offers an alternative pathway for Indigenous Australians aged 17 and over who are seeking entry into an undergraduate course at UOW.
Students may be admitted to this course via Early Admission.
