The course offers three specialisation options depending on your career goals: Media and Communication (ideal for those interested in media, marketing or communication roles), Community Arts (focused on transforming public spaces through collaborative projects and careers in cultural programming, arts policy and community engagement), and Stakeholder Engagement and Marketing (providing hands-on experience in designing campaigns and preparing students for roles in PR, brand strategy, corporate communication or creative consultancy).
From your first year, you'll explore how arts and culture shape communities and identities through real-world projects that connect theory with practice. Two community engagement units provide opportunities to work with local organisations, and a work-integrated learning internship offers the chance to apply your skills in a professional environment, build industry connections, and grow confidence.
To complete the course you must complete a total of 288 credit points, comprising six core units (72 credit points), a Creative Industries Major of 96 credit points (60 credit points of core units and 36 credit points of option units), QUT You (24 credit points), and complementary studies (96 credit points), which can include a second major, minors, or elective units.
Yes, you can combine your Bachelor of Arts (Creative industries) degree with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and graduate with two qualifications in just 5.5 years. This double degree is ideal for students who want to shape policy, lead cultural change, and advocate for inclusive and ethical practices across creative and legal sectors.
The course has two intake periods — February and July — and is available at the Kelvin Grove campus as well as online. You can defer your offer and postpone the start of your course for one year.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
