You'll develop techniques to apply acting craft for theatre, screen, motion capture, voiceover and digital media. The course builds a strong foundation integrating movement, voice, creativity, and professional practice into the holistic development of the actor's process, with early studies focusing on developing a free and responsive acting instrument before moving into craft techniques for stage, screen and digital media performance.
Students perform at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House and Belvoir St Theatre in Sydney, Chapel Off Chapel and Arts Centre Melbourne in Melbourne, and Metro Arts and Backdock Arts in Brisbane. Students also graduate with experience performing in a fully staged production at one of their state's top theatre venues under the direction of an industry professional.

They also present their work to casting directors and theatre creatives, building valuable connections through JMC's strong industry network.
No ATAR is required to apply for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) at JMC Academy. The course is open to passionate and committed individuals who are ready to build a career on stage and screen.
The course is taught by industry professionals with extensive experience. Lecturers include Robert Maxwell, a voice, dialect and acting teacher who has worked at Yale School of Drama and Carnegie Mellon University; Anna Loren, a writer, actor, and theatre-maker who holds an MA in Ensemble Theatre and sits on the board of Women in Film & Television (WIFT) Australia; Darcy Brown, an actor with over a decade of experience whose credits include productions for MTC, Bell Shakespeare, and Shake & Stir; and Anthony Gooley, a NIDA graduate and Sydney Theatre Award winner with extensive theatre and television credits.
