This degree is offered in collaboration with TAFE SA and is one of only a few Costume Design degrees in Australia. Students gain a highly practical understanding of the costume industry, master industry-leading design software such as Clo 3D, and connect with other creative artists including those in film, performance and dance to get a taste of real-life collaboration.
Core topics are taught in the Adelaide CBD at the Adelaide College of the Arts, TAFE SA Adelaide City Campus, and Flinders City Campus, with some electives offered online or at Bedford Park.
In your final year, you'll take part in the largest single fashion parade event in South Australia to showcase your designs. The course also offers study abroad opportunities and practical experience, and students have had the chance to go on study tours — for example, one student travelled to New York and Los Angeles to learn about theatre and film costuming, including a quick change workshop run by a Broadway dresser.
Yes, you can boost your knowledge with an Honours in Creative Arts. By pursuing further study in costume design, you'll put theory into practice by developing a major creative work and develop strong research skills by developing a research question related to your creative product.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
