Camera & Lighting 2
Students move beyond merely lighting a scene, to using lighting as a means to express the meaning of the scene. Covers aesthetics of image design, and in-depth technical understanding of the relationships between the camera, lenses, and lighting. Prerequisite: FTP203 (Camera & Lighting 1).
Camera & Lighting 3: Cinematography
Designed for students whose professional goal is to be a cinematographer. Students investigate ultra-high definition digital camera systems and experiment with technical elements of production to create a cinematic film experience. Prerequisites: FTP203 (Camera & Lighting 1), FTP302 (Camera & Lighting 2).
Screenwriting 2
Expands on knowledge and skills from Screenwriting 1, introducing more sophisticated writing tools and techniques, including writing in collaboration, for an audience, and to a budget. Prerequisite: FTP206 (Screenwriting 1).
Screenwriting 3: Long Form
Offers students the opportunity to complete an original 45-page script for the screen, building on Screenwriting 1 and 2. Prepares advanced students with professional skills to develop, write, incorporate feedback, and complete rewrites of an original screenplay.

The course is 2 years accelerated, spanning six trimesters of creative and technical exploration, and is available on a full-time or part-time basis.
You'll work on a range of screen projects including short films, documentaries, music videos, and multicamera productions. The course culminates in a professional final project and showreel that prepares you for entry into the film, television, and digital screen industries.
Graduates work as Directors, Producers, Editors, Screenwriters, Cinematographers, and Content Creators in film, TV, advertising, and digital media. The course also prepares graduates for below-the-line roles such as camera assistants, art department assistants, data wranglers, production runners, grips, sound assistants, and editors.
The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Film and Television) is offered at JMC Academy's Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney campuses, with intakes available in February, June, and September.
