In addition to meeting the entrance rank requirements (which can be achieved through Year 12 ATAR, diploma pathway, other Australian Qualification, work experience, or overseas qualification), all applicants must complete an audition as an additional admission requirement.
The Bachelor of Creative Industries (Contemporary Music Practice) is delivered in partnership with TAFE Queensland, with campuses available at South Bank, QLD and Coomera, QLD. International students are only available at the South Bank campus.
Yes, credit transfer arrangements are available for students who have completed: Diploma of Music (27774) from Music Industry College Pty Ltd, Diploma of Music (26553) from Other Australian TAFE, or Diploma of Music Industry (33747) from TAFE Queensland.
You'll develop high-level skills and knowledge in composition and song writing, performance, music production, technology, and theory. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with filmmakers, game designers, visual artists, actors, and other teams across the creative industries, working on real projects to combine university thinking with hands-on learning.
The course includes Work Integrated Learning units (Professional Practice 1 and Professional Practice 2) and you'll be encouraged and supported to find relevant work placements, enabling you to experience the reality of working within the industry or a particular company, and the opportunity to build useful networks for a future career.
