The three-year packaged program comprises the Diploma of Music (CUA50820) for 1 year — where you choose one of three specialisations: Sound Production, Performance or Creation and Composition — followed by the Bachelor of Creative Practice (Music Production and Performance) (HE20634) for 2 years.
The course fee for international students is $50,000 - $52,800 AUD. Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.
In Year 2, you will complete 12 core units and 4 additional specialty units. Core units include Techniques 3: Audio Technology and Sound Theory, Techniques 4: Multimedia Sound Design, Studio 3: Recording Studio Practice, Studio 4: Music for Film and Interactive Media, Modern world culture, Australian culture, Techniques 5: Advanced Music Composition and Production, Studio 5: Music Research and Creative Development, Creative Practice Capstone Project, Working in Industry, Emerging Technologies, and Contemporary theory. Specialty units include Foundations of Business Practice for Creatives, Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Creative Industries, Applied Digital Marketing, and Business to Business Marketing.
Graduates will develop the skills and knowledge to promote and market themselves, create industry-ready projects that showcase their talent and versatility, manage deadlines and understand small business requirements, discuss and critique their own work and the work of others, and gain experience in developing administrative, marketing and financial business plans for their own creative enterprise.
After completing this degree, you can pursue vocational study pathways with further TAFE NSW courses, continue with a TAFE NSW degree pathway, take advantage of TAFE NSW–university partnership pathways that offer guaranteed entry and credit transfer to eligible students at a number of Australian universities, or gain entry to another university using your TAFE NSW qualifications.
