Common Questions
All applicants, whether domestic or international, must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the minimum UNSW English Language Requirements. This can be demonstrated through English language tests (such as those from Pearson's), prior study in the medium of English, or other accepted qualifications.
International applicants must complete the Financial Declaration Form and submit evidence of their capacity to fund all living costs, fees, and other associated costs for the duration of their studies. Funding can be demonstrated through a UNSW Research Scholarship, an alternative external scholarship or sponsorship, or through self-funding supported by bank statements from the last 6 months.
UNSW operates on an academic calendar with four terms per year: Summer Term, Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3. For 2026, Term 1 starts 16 February, Term 2 starts 1 June, and Term 3 starts 14 September. New candidates are expected to enrol by the Term Start Date, though enrolment may commence up to one month before the start date.
Yes, applicants can request a deferral of up to one year after the initial offer term. Deferrals are only approved where conditions are met, including continuing to meet UNSW entry requirements and availability of supervision and resources. If you have a conditional offer, you should email the relevant admissions team, while unconditional offer holders can request deferral through Accept Online.
All mandatory supporting documents as outlined in the Document Submission Guidelines are required by the application deadline. These include evidence of meeting UNSW English language requirements, the Financial Declaration Form (for international applicants), academic transcripts, and any documents required by the specific Faculty. Documents not in English must be translated by a NAATI-accredited translator or a registered translator from an overseas country acceptable to the Australian diplomatic mission.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
