Frequently Asked Questions
What work integrated learning opportunities are available in this course?
The course offers work integrated learning opportunities including workplace practicums, involvement in industry-based projects, and work integrated learning via ECU's own Criminal Justice Review Project. In the final semester, students must select one of two WIL opportunities: a practicum placement (by application and approval only, requiring a minimum of 270 hours in a relevant criminal justice agency) or a capstone project (run on-campus, requiring students to work in small groups on a real life industry-based project).
Are there any clearances required for the practicum placement?
Yes. As students will be placed in a criminal justice agency, they will be subjected to a police clearance and agency security clearance. In some cases, students may require Interpol clearance. Students will require a Working With Children clearance if placed with a youth justice agency. A practicum placement host may also have vaccination and other requirements, including vaccination against Covid-19 unless you have a medical exemption.
How is the course structured and how many credit points are required to complete it?
Students are required to complete 180 credit points of core units and 180 credit points of elective units, totalling 360 credit points. The course is completed over 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent).

Hear From the Students
Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful โ never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
