Common Questions
The Bachelor of Criminology (Honours) is a four-year degree that includes an Honours year in the final year. During this year, you will complete a major research project (your Honours thesis) working closely with an expert supervisor to explore a criminological issue that matters to you. This experience sharpens critical thinking skills and practical knowledge, positioning you for impactful careers or further study, whereas a standard degree typically does not include this research component.
In the Honours year, you can choose to work with experienced researchers across several specialisations: Crime, Victimisation, and Prevention; Policing and Security; Organised Crime; Cybercrime; Domestic Family and Sexual Violence; and Corrections and Youth Justice.
Domestic students can gain guaranteed entry with an ATAR of 95.00. Alternative entry options include a STAT score of 170.0, a GPA of 5.5, a TAFE/VET Advanced Diploma or above, or pathway options through Criminology, Diploma in Arts, or Diploma in Criminology. There are no prerequisites or assumed knowledge requirements.
Upon completing the Bachelor of Criminology (Honours), you will be eligible to apply for membership with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
