Common Questions
The Bachelor of Cyber Security is a three-year full-time degree consisting of 24 courses (8 courses per year). The structure includes 20 disciplinary core courses (16 core courses and 4 minor courses) and 4 general elective courses. Students choose one minor from either Cyber Security Industry Application or Intelligent Cyber Security, and also complete two elective courses: Advanced Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, and Cyber Risk Management.
The program is delivered through a Hybrid Flexible (HyFlex) model, which combines on-campus and online learning, allowing students to balance work and study. The delivery mode is listed as face-to-face (includes blended), and the campus is located in Canberra.
The 2026 indicative first year full fee is $10,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $30,000. These are Commonwealth Supported Place student contributions, which are subject to annual review and may increase each year during your studies, subject to caps determined by the Australian Government.

The demand for cyber security professionals is at an all-time high and expected to continue to grow.
Yes. Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an essential component of this degree, included in the minor and core courses of Year 3, Term 3. This program enables students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world cyber security challenges and solutions. Students also gain access to industry mentorships and placements to help build their network and establish themselves in the cyber security sector.
