Common Questions
Yes. In addition to the College's standard entry requirements, all applicants must complete a dance audition linked to standards of dance technique and dance composition. More information on dance auditions is available on the ACPE website.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Dance Education will be qualified to teach Dance as well as Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), as PDHPE is offered as a parallel course of study within the degree. This enables graduates to qualify in a second teaching method and a key learning area in secondary schools. The degree is endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority.
The Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) is a government-mandated test that assesses initial teacher education students' personal literacy and numeracy skills. In NSW, all teacher education students are required to pass the test before starting their final professional experience placement (Professional Experience 4). The test is administered by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and involves a fee — in 2022 the fee for both components was $196 (GST inclusive). Students must pass the test during their first year to progress to second year.
Yes, the Bachelor of Dance Education is available on a part-time basis on campus. Full-time study takes 4 years, while part-time students have up to 10 years from initial enrolment to complete the degree. The program spans eight semesters of 12 weeks each, with approximately 16 contact hours per week excluding examination and study weeks.
If you don't meet the direct entry criteria, you may be permitted to enrol in the NESA-approved Bachelor of Dance Practice pathway and apply for transfer at the end of Year 1 if you pass all first year units with a credit average, achieve a credit average in a full year of equivalent academic study at another institution, or pass both the literacy and numeracy components of the LANTITE test. ACPE also offers a range of other alternative entry pathways — visit their Early & Alternate Entry Pathways page for more details.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
