Common Questions
Yes. The Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics is nationally recognised and endorsed as an accredited course by the Australian Dental Council (ADC) and approved by the Dental Board of Australia. While at TAFE Queensland, all students are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) by TAFE Queensland. Graduates of courses accredited by the ADC are eligible to apply for registration with AHPRA and are required to obtain registration prior to commencing practice.
Students have access to world-class facilities including a state-of-the-art dental laboratory and a working denture clinic at the South Bank campus. These facilities allow students to complete clinical and lab work on real patients, using real equipment and facilities.
To study dental prosthetics at TAFE Queensland, you must demonstrate that your English language skills will enable you to practice your profession safely, as required by AHPRA. You can meet this standard through one of four pathways: the combined education pathway, the school education pathway, the advanced education pathway, or the test pathway. For the test pathway, you must complete an approved English Language Proficiency Test (such as IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT Australia, PTE Academic, OET, or Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) and achieve the minimum scores outlined in the AHPRA English language skills registration standard 2025. Test results must have been obtained within two years before the date you lodge your application.
On completion, you will be eligible to seek registration and employment as a Registered Dental Prosthetist or Health Practitioner, with opportunities to continue into further study as your career progresses. Dental prosthetists work independently to design, manufacture and fit complete and partial dentures, mouthguards and other dental appliances.
The annual indicative cost is $21,970 for domestic students and $32,880 for international students (fees will vary based on selected units and study load). The course is delivered fully on campus at the South Bank campus in Greater Brisbane, with a study load of full time, 3 days per week, over 3 years. FEE-HELP assistance is available for all units of study in this course. The next intake starts 27 January 2027.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
