Selection is based on a holistic consideration of your academic merit, work experience, likelihood of success, availability of places, participation requirements, regulatory requirements, and individual circumstances.
You will need to meet the minimum academic and English language proficiency requirements to be considered for selection, but this does not guarantee admission.
A combination of qualifications and experience may be deemed equivalent to minimum academic requirements.
Lowest selection rank (ATAR): 79.80 (based on 2026 early and first round VTAC offers, including relevant adjustment factors)
Deakin Guaranteed ATAR: 70 (guaranteed admission at a lower ATAR for eligible students)
If you don't meet the academic entry requirements as outlined, or haven't completed Year 12, or don't hold any relevant qualifications, the STAT (Skills test) may be considered.

Can I complete this double degree faster than the standard five years?

Yes. The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) component of this course may be taken as an accelerated program. By taking selected units in Trimester 3, the course can be completed in four years instead of five.

Where is this course offered and when can I start?

The course is offered at Deakin's Waterfront campus in Geelong. You can commence in Trimester 1 (starting March) or Trimester 2 (starting July). Direct applications to Deakin for Trimester 2 2026 close 21 June 2026.

What equipment and software will I need for this course?

Students will be required to purchase minor equipment such as drawing media, paperstock, sketchbooks, and model making tools, with an indicative cost ranging from $750–$1,500 over the course duration. Students are also recommended to have access to a personal computer (laptop or desktop). Where possible, all required software (Autodesk, Adobe) is provided to students under free academic licencing and does not require additional cost.

What facilities are available to students studying this course?

Students have access to Deakin's purpose-built a+b studio, an open-plan space for collaborative work, as well as an architecture workshop equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and traditional tools and machinery for fabricating models and experimenting with technology, materials, and processes.

Does this degree allow me to work internationally?

Yes. The Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) qualifies you to work in Australia and in over 50 countries worldwide, and includes opportunities for international study tours and exchange.
