Bachelor of Design in Architecture (Honours)

The honours degree requires an extra year of full-time study beyond the Bachelor of Design in Architecture, consisting of two semesters (Honours semester one and Honours semester two).

Students are encouraged to commence the application process in their final year of the Bachelor of Design in Architecture, or equivalent degree at another institution. The standard closing dates are 15 January for Semester 1 entry and 25 June for Semester 2 entry. The University strongly encourages applicants to apply as early as possible, as offers are made on a rolling basis and places are limited.

You may need to arrange a supervisor before you apply. It is best to find a supervisor with experience in your topic area. You may need to meet with your proposed supervisor to see if they are able to supervise your honours program and discuss your proposed research topic, and you should provide evidence of their support with your application.

Current University of Sydney students should submit a course transfer request via the Sydney Student portal and check with their faculty for more information. All other applicants should apply directly to the University via the online application portal before the closing date.

Applicants need to prepare a research topic proposal identifying an area of interest considered of academic importance to the relevant faculty, find a supervisor with experience in their topic area and provide evidence of their support, and submit an application form with any required supporting documents via the online application portal before the relevant closing date.
