Yes, the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is approved by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) as meeting the National Quality Framework (NQF). Graduates are advised to check the early childhood registration requirements for their specific state or territory.
The course includes 85 days of professional experience learning in early childhood education settings, as well as 10 days in primary schools, totalling 680 hours. All professional experience learning days must be completed for graduation, with professional behaviour and conduct upheld at all times. Students are responsible for travel to attend placements, which may not always be within their local area.
Yes. Students may be eligible to exit with the Associate Degree of Educational Studies after completing the equivalent of 16 units (192 credit points) comprising 16 core units. Students may also be eligible to exit with the Diploma of Education after completing the equivalent of 8 units (96 credit points) comprising 8 core units.
International applicants must meet a minimum IELTS overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the four components: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Alternatively, applicants may provide an ISLPR score of at least 4+ in each of the four areas, or meet other specified English proficiency criteria.
The indicative annual tuition fee for international students studying on the Gold Coast is $26,000 (AUD), based on $3,250 per unit and completing 8 units per year. Tuition fees are in Australian dollars and are subject to change, including annual increases over the duration of the course. Students are also required to pay OSHC for the duration of their visa in advance.
