Within the Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Advanced Studies, you can choose from four embedded majors: Econometrics, Economics, Environmental, Agricultural and Resource Economics, or Financial Economics.
Yes. If you meet the relevant admission criteria, you can apply for the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) after completing the requirements of the three-year Bachelor of Economics. Additionally, if you meet the entry and progression criteria during your studies, you can elect to complete the Advanced Economics program, which serves as a pathway to Honours in Economics.
In the final year of your degree, you will undertake advanced coursework where you will enhance your leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and increase your employment prospects. You will undertake challenging coursework and a substantial real-world project individually or in collaboration with other students.
The closing date for Semester 1 is 31 January of the commencing year, and the closing date for Semester 2 is 15 July of the commencing year. Note that separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
In addition to the Economics program, you will complete a major from a broad range of subject areas from the 'Shared pool', including business, STEM, social sciences, and humanities. You will also complete units of study from the Open Learning Environment and any elective units needed to make up the required credit points for the course.
