The degree offers three Advanced Mathematics majors — Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, and Statistics — as well as three Economics majors: Data Analytics and Econometrics, Economic Policy and Society, and Macroeconomics and Financial Markets. You also have the option to combine these with further electives and minors in other areas.
Both programs incorporate practical and professional experience. The Bachelor of Economics offers opportunities for internships, group consulting projects, and global practicums (up to two for-credit work industry experiences). The Bachelor of Advanced Science includes for-credit work placements via the SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course and research internships via the SCIF2041 Research Internship course.
The Advanced Mathematics Honours year is an integral part of the degree. It involves a supervised research project and, in some cases, advanced coursework. The full program consists of approximately 40 courses, including Honours level Advanced Mathematics courses, and is completed over five years full-time.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $11,500 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $52,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $59,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $330,500. Fees are subject to annual review and may vary.
