In the economics component, you can choose to complete a major in one of the following areas: Agribusiness, Agricultural and Resource Economics, Economic Development, Economic Evaluation, or Environmental Analysis and Policy.
Yes, most students choose to study online across three study periods with 24/7 tutor support. Online study is available for Trimester 1 (February 2026), Trimester 2 (June 2026), and Trimester 3 (October 2026). The Armidale Campus is available for Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 on-campus study.
The course takes 5 years to complete full-time, or up to 12 years part-time. It consists of 40 units (240 credit points).
If you are a high-achieving student, you may choose to undertake Honours in law as part of your degree. If you are interested in undertaking Honours in economics, you may apply for entry to the Bachelor of Economics with Honours after completing your course. Undertaking an Honours pathway can lead to higher degree research opportunities and enhance your career options.
