About This Course

The Bachelor of Education is an undergraduate award in initial teacher education, fully accredited by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) and Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA). The ACCS Bachelor of Education program is comprised of 192 credit points including two Professional Experience placements. Underpinned by an inclusive Christian worldview that accommodates diversity, the Bachelor of Education program prepares you for the rich, relational, and significant role of teacher so that you are ready to make a difference in your students' lives – individually and for the common good. The program emphasizes educational good practice and is designed to develop the insight, knowledge and skills required for high quality learning and teaching. The degree contains two streams: Primary and Secondary, with a common core of foundational units including pedagogical studies and professional experience units.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or state/territory equivalent before starting any professional experience placement
Complete Anaphylaxis & Child Protection Training modules and keep certificates current
Pass the national Literacy and Numeracy Test (LANTITE) — sat in first semester to allow time for re-sits if needed
Complete a Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) during final placement, required for graduation
All mandatory checks must be completed a semester BEFORE professional experience placements
