This course includes the completion of a minimum of 80 days supervised practice teaching. You are required to undertake four professional experience blocks that require full-time commitment, and you must provide proof that you have met all university and State/Territory pre-placement requirements before commencing professional placements.
Yes, this course has been accredited through the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). Upon graduating, you will be recognised as an Early Childhood Teacher by ACECQA and be eligible for Provisional Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (TRB NT). Requirements in other Australian states and territories may differ.
Yes, you can study the Bachelor of Education Birth to Five Years online or on campus, part-time or full-time. Should you choose to study online, you'll complete your placements close to home. All students have access to and are encouraged to make use of online learning materials and interaction.
The annual tuition fee for full time study in 2026 is AUD $31,432.00, which equates to $3,929.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 320 credit points. The course is made up of 29 core units totalling 290 credit points and 3 general elective units totalling 30 credit points. A maximum of 120 credit points may be taken from 100 level units, and a minimum of 80 credit points must be taken from 300 level units or above. Professional Experience units must be undertaken in the following sequence: EPE111, EPE240, EPE355, EPE450.
