Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) - Diploma to Teaching Pathway recognises your Australian Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121 or equivalent) and your industry experience and supports you to become an Early Childhood Teacher within two years. This exciting program has been developed by Western Sydney University in partnership with the NSW Department of Education. The course design draws on the strong industry experience of diploma-qualified educators. You will learn how to foster children’s creativity, curiosity, imagination and resilience through an integrated and responsive play-based curriculum. You will put your learning into practice during professional placements – including opportunities in your current workplace. The program has been designed so that you can balance work alongside your study load. This program is flexible, providing both on-campus and/or online learning options to accomodate the wide range of student commitments. Study on-campus with one dedicated learning day each week from 9am-4pm across a 9-week semester. Subjects required for on-campus learning are offered through Campbelltown, however, are also available at Parramatta South, and students can choose their on-campus learning day at either campus. At Parramatta South, classes are held on Fridays, while at Campbelltown you can choose a different weekday if Friday doesn’t suit your schedule. Your on-campus learning day offers an interactive experience that goes beyond lectures, with tutorials, mentoring and collaborative peer learning, designed to keep you motivated and connected. Both campuses are easily accessible by public transport (bus or train) or car, with on-site parking available. Our Parramatta South campus is also conveniently accessible by light rail.
