The Professional Experience Program (PEP) consists of 85 days of supervised practicum undertaken in a range of schools. Placements are available in the Christian, state and Independent schooling sectors in both urban and regional settings, and students are required to hold a valid Blue Card in order to engage in PEP.
As part of their Discipline Content studies, Bachelor of Education (Primary) students complete a specialisation in one of the following subject areas: English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, or Science.
The minimum English language proficiency requirements are: IELTS (Academic) overall score of 7.5 (at least 8.0 for Listening and Speaking; at least 7.0 for Reading and Writing), or ISLPR 4 in each of the areas of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing (administered by ISLPR Language Services, Mt Gravatt, Queensland only). English test results must be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.
Applicants with recent secondary education must have completed English or English and Literature (Units 3 & 4; C or above), General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4; C or above), and one of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Marine Science, Physics or Psychology (Units 3 & 4, C or equivalent). Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
