To complete the Bachelor of Education Primary, you are required to undertake a minimum of 80 days of professional experience. The Professional Experience units must be undertaken in the following sequence: EPR220, EPR330, EPR401. You must also provide proof that you have met all university and State/Territory pre-placement requirements before commencing professional placements.
Yes. This course has been accredited through the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (TRB NT) and is consistent with the standards established by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) for the accreditation of Initial Teacher Education Programs (ITE) in Australia. Upon graduating, you will be eligible to register as a teacher across all Australian State and Territory jurisdictions, subject to meeting other eligibility criteria such as the National Literacy and Numeracy test for Initial Teacher Education, English proficiency and suitability to teach.
Yes, you can study the Bachelor of Education Primary online or on campus, part-time or full-time. Should you choose to study online, you'll complete your placements close to home. Online intakes are available in Semester 1 and Semester 2.
The course offers two specialist elective areas. In Humanities and Social Sciences, you can choose from Environmental Issues (ENV103), Colonising Australia (IAS131), and Introduction to International Relations (IAS133). In Health and Physical Education, you can choose from Introduction to Health Promotion (HSC132), Health, Exercise and Sport Psychology (SPE206), and Motor Control and Learning (SPE210). You must select 3 units totalling 30 credit points from ONE of these areas.
The annual tuition fee for full-time study in 2026 is AUD $31,432.00, which equates to $3,929.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study.
