This program is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students only. It is a four-year undergraduate education program offered at the Bankstown City campus.
Block mode is designed to afford students the capacity to remain in their communities to fulfil their family, community, career, cultural and social responsibilities. To study a block mode program you are required to attend four residential schools per year, each lasting one week, whether online or face to face. Travel, accommodation and meal costs to attend the workshops are funded by Abstudy for approved students. Students may also be eligible for Tutoring for Success (TFS) assistance.
Professional experience is undertaken in schools in home communities and in Sydney. A literacy and numeracy test is required prior to the school placement for Professional Experience 4: Teaching in Country.
Yes, this program has been professionally accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), and graduates will meet the Australian Professional Standards for Graduate Teachers.
Domestic students may be eligible for Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP), with an indicative annual fee from $11,885.
