Common Questions
You will complete 30 weeks (150 days) of supervised school-based placements across the degree, allowing you to build confidence, refine your teaching practice, and graduate profession-ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the next generation.
Yes. The Bachelor of Primary Education is offered online via the Broome Campus for students in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia through the Reach Higher initiative. Courses feature pre-recorded lectures and interactive online tutorials led by expert tutors, and there are various options for Professional Experience placements — you can stay close to home, explore local schools, or embark on placements across Australia and overseas.
You can tailor your degree by choosing a specialisation in Religious Education (making you eligible for accreditation to teach in Catholic schools), English Education, Mathematics Education, Service Learning and Social Justice (WA only), or Special and Inclusive Education.
For WA applicants with recent secondary education, an indicative ATAR/Selection Rank of 70 (including Adjustment Factors) or an International Baccalaureate score of 25 is required. Applicants with higher education must have successfully completed 4 subjects at an undergraduate level or higher, or the Notre Dame Tertiary Pathway Program. VET applicants need an AQF Certificate IV or higher. Mature-age applicants (20 years or older) who left school more than two years ago can qualify through relevant work experience, STAT scores (at least 135 Multiple Choice and 140 Written English), or two Year 12 WACE/HSC equivalent exams.
To graduate, you'll need to complete all your coursework and Professional Experience, as well as pass two external assessments: the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) or an alternate pathway, and the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
