Common Questions
To be considered for admission, you must have achieved an ATAR of at least 70, or an equivalent as recognised by UWA. Alternatively, you may be eligible through an assured pathway offer, a score of at least 100 in UWA's Experience-based Entry assessment, or a place in a relevant UWA access program.
This course has higher English Language Competency (ELC) requirements. Applicants presenting with the IELTS Academic require an overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum of 7.0 in the reading and writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the listening and speaking bands.
The Personal Statement is part of the application process and provides an opportunity for you to share your passion and motivations for pursuing teaching, as well as experiences that have prepared you for this pursuit. It requires you to address five criteria: Communication and relational capabilities, Self-awareness and self-management, Motivation to teach, Willingness to learn, and Organisational and planning skills — two of which are Inherent Requirements for the course.
Each response in the Personal Statement should be between 200–300 words. Responses must use professional language with accurate grammar and punctuation, written in sentences and paragraphs — dot points are not acceptable. The use of any form of artificial intelligence (AI) is strictly prohibited.
Once you are ready, you can use the online form provided by UWA to submit your Personal Statement online for assessment as part of your application. The recommended process is to first read the questionnaire and draft your responses in a separate document, proofread them using the provided checklist, and then enter and submit each response into the online form when you are satisfied they are of a high standard.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
