Common Questions
The Professional Experience Program (PEP) consists of 85 days of supervised practicum undertaken in a range of schools. Placements are available in the Christian, state and Independent schooling sectors in both urban and regional settings. Students are required to hold a valid Blue Card in order to engage in PEP.
Students complete six units in each of two teaching areas chosen from the following: Biblical Studies, Business Education, Drama, English, History, Mathematics, and Science.
The minimum requirements are an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 overall (at least 8.0 for Listening and Speaking; at least 7.0 for Reading and Writing), or ISLPR 4 in each of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing (administered by ISLPR Language Services, Mt Gravatt, Queensland). English test results must be no more than two years old at the commencement of the course.
Applicants with recent secondary education must have completed Year 12 studies or equivalent in English (English, English and Literature, Units 3 & 4; C or above) and Mathematics (General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics, Units 3 & 4; C or above), or their equivalent.
Applicants must demonstrate qualities that indicate motivation and suitability to become a teacher and involvement in personal learning and leadership activities, assessed via the Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Education (NARTE) as administered by QTAC. Applicants must also be eligible for a Blue Card (Queensland's Working with Children Check), or the equivalent from another jurisdiction.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
