Common Questions
The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) allows you to qualify to teach in secondary schools in the areas of humanities and social sciences, mathematics and science.
You will undertake professional experience and work-based training throughout your studies alongside your coursework.
You will complete core units in professional teaching, Aboriginal education, special and inclusive education, international education, information and communications technology, and a major in education studies. You will also complete a second major or minor, along with an additional minor or teaching area from the disciplinary pool, and units from the Open Learning Environment or the shared pool as needed.
The closing date for Semester 1 applications is 31 January of the commencing year. Note that separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is described as a four-year undergraduate degree that gives students a professional qualification to teach in secondary schools.
