About This Course

The Bachelor of Education Studies is a three-year degree offered at Swinburne University of Technology. Students can choose a major in either Primary Education or Early Childhood Education.

Requirements

Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification
Completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification (including certificates IV (completed), diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees and degrees)
Applicants without a formal qualification may be considered for entry if they have significant and relevant work experience and/or upon completion of the STAT test
Guaranteed Entry ATAR: 60.0
Lowest ATAR to receive an offer in 2025 [after adjustment factors]: 62.65
VCE Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in any English (except EAL) or 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or equivalent
Subject adjustments: A study score of 25 in English Language, Literature, Health and Human Development, any LOTE, any Mathematics or any Science equals 2 aggregate points per study; a study score of 30 equals 3 aggregate points per study; overall maximum of 10 points
Applicants applying to transfer from another initial teacher education course must disclose all Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) attempts
International applicants: Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent overseas qualification
English language requirement (International): IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0, or Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65% or above
