Yes, this degree combination is unique in South Australia, offering students the opportunity to graduate as both an accredited environmental engineer and civil engineer in a single combined program.
All Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees at Flinders are accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer. These courses are recognised internationally under the Washington Accord, and graduates meet the academic requirements for attaining chartered professional engineering status.
You will have the opportunity to undertake a 20-week industry placement as part of your degree, one of the longest work placements offered in Australia. You will also gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge equipment and facilities at Flinders University's new technology precinct at Tonsley, and undertake an integrated high-technology design consulting project. There are also opportunities to undertake your industry placement overseas.
The 2024 selection rank is 95.00 and the guaranteed selection rank is also 95.00. Adjustment factors are available. The lowest selection rank to receive an offer in Semester 1, 2025 was 71.30 (including adjustment factors).
For domestic students, the 2026 annual indicative fee is $9,537 (CSP — Commonwealth Supported Place). For international students, the 2026 annual fee is $47,300.
