Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

Students can choose to specialise in either Intelligent Robotics or Network Engineering. Intelligent Robotics focuses on the control and dynamics of machines, industrial robotics, algorithms, and smart engineering, while Network Engineering covers designing, developing and operating software-based networked systems, including mobile and wireless data communications, network security, cloud computing, big data and multimedia networks.

Yes, this course is accredited with Engineers Australia at Professional Engineer level and with the Australian Computer Society at Professional level.

WIL is an integral component of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course, offering students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and build professional relationships through real work or work-like placements. Students will also be invited to participate in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge, a humanitarian-focused activity offered to engineering students across Australia.

Yes, credit transfer arrangements are available from several institutions including Canberra Institute of Technology (for Certificate IV in Information Technology and Diploma of Information Technology), Melbourne College of Advanced Studies (Bachelor Qualifying Programs in Engineering, Business, and Science-IT), University of Canberra College (Diploma of Information Technology), and any Australian Diploma (AQF5), Advanced Diploma (AQF6), or Certificate IV (AQF4) from other Australian TAFEs.

The course is open for new admissions in Semester 1 (starting 16 February 2026) and Semester 2 (starting 10 August 2026) for 2026, and in Semester 1 (starting 15 February 2027) and Semester 2 (starting 09 August 2027) for 2027, at the Bruce, Canberra campus. Both domestic and international students are welcome in all intake periods.
