Students can choose from eight majors: Architectural, Biomedical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Product Design, Robotics and Mechatronics, and Software engineering.
The guaranteed entry ATAR is 75.0. If you meet or exceed this score and satisfy course prerequisites, you are guaranteed a place. The lowest ATAR to receive an offer in 2025 after adjustment factors was 73.5.
Yes, subject adjustment points are available. A study score of 25 in Biology, Chemistry, any Information Technology, any Mathematics or Physics equals 2 aggregate points per study; a score of 30 equals 3 points; and a score of 35 in Mathematics Methods or Specialist Maths equals 5 aggregate points per study. The overall maximum is 15 points, and these points are applied to the aggregate, not the ATAR.
Several pathway courses are available, including the Associate Degree of Engineering (2 years full-time, up to 16 units max credit), the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electrical (2 years full-time, 10–12 units max credit), and the Diploma of Engineering (UniLink) (8 months full-time, 8 units max credit).
International students must demonstrate satisfactory completion of one of the following: an IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0, Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with an overall score of 65% and all skills at 65% or above, or equivalent measures as outlined on Swinburne's English language requirements page.
