Yes. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) component of this double degree is fully accredited with Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer. Graduates are recognised internationally through the Washington Accord.
The double degree takes 5 years to complete and is available commencing in Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3. It is delivered face-to-face (including blended) at the Kensington campus.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $8,500, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $47,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $62,500, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $344,000.
In this double degree, you will study two majors: Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. You will complete a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Materials Science and Engineering — which includes societal materials electives, general electives, free electives, and 60 days of approved Engineering Professional Practice — as well as a Bachelor of Engineering Science with a Chemical Engineering discipline focus, including foundational knowledge in theories and sciences underpinning engineering.
This double degree opens doors to diverse industries such as manufacturing, energy, biomedical engineering, chemical processing, materials development, environmental engineering, and research and development. Specific roles include Chemical Process Engineer, Materials Engineer, Research Scientist, Environmental Engineer, Product Development Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Energy Engineer.
