Common Questions
To qualify for the award, students must complete 192 credit points in total: nine 100-level units (54 credit points), eight 200-level units (48 credit points), nine 300-level units (54 credit points), five 400-level units (30 credit points), one additional unit (6 credit points), and one compulsory professional experience unit (WILE400) which does not award credit points.
WILE400 is a mandatory Work Integrated Learning Experience unit requiring successful completion of 60 days of industry experience. It must be undertaken upon successful completion of Year 3 of the course and must be completed before the end of the course duration. It does not award credit points but is a compulsory requirement for graduation.
Graduates may be eligible for membership with Engineers Australia (EA), the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), subject to course accreditation by TEQSA and the relevant professional body.
The course combines electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, and computer science. Students learn both theoretical and practical knowledge in areas including electronics, computing, communications, IoT, wireless networks, cyber security, machine learning for IoT, cloud computing architecture, digital signal processing, and engineering design. It also covers professional skills such as engineering management, ethics, sustainability, and professional practices.
Yes, the course includes elective units. General Education electives include Foundation Mathematics (MATH100). Technical elective options include Mobile Communication Networks (CNET356), Database Design (CECS323), IoT System Design (IOTS460), Data Analytics (CECS424), and Advanced Networks & Services (CNET451). Students complete one general education elective and three technical electives in Year 4.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
