Students can choose from eight majors: Architectural, Biomedical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Product Design, Robotics and Mechatronics, and Software. Each major includes industry-linked projects every semester starting from Year 1.
The Professional Degree includes a 12-month paid full-time work placement that provides real-world engineering experience. This is in addition to industry-based projects undertaken every semester from Year 1. The placement earns credit towards the degree through units such as Work Experience in Industry A & B and the Integrated Professional Placement units.
Yes, the course is professionally accredited by Engineers Australia. Graduates are eligible to apply for graduate membership of Engineers Australia upon completion.
Successful completion requires students to complete units of study to the value of 475 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated, and the course consists of 11 core units, 18 major units, elective units, and work placement units.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the yearly fee is approximately $9,537 AUD with a total estimated fee of $45,300 AUD. For international students, the total indicative fee is approximately $47,320 AUD. Fees are estimates only and subject to change. HECS-HELP is available for eligible domestic students.
