Every semester includes real-world experience, from live industry briefs to placements and internships. You'll apply your learning in eight professionally focused, industry-linked projects, with guaranteed industry-based projects every semester starting from Year 1. Students can also opt for a 6- or 12-month professional placement in lieu of Professional Experience in Engineering (EAT20008), which may change the course duration.
Yes, the course is accredited by Engineers Australia, providing international recognition and enabling graduates to practise as professional engineers. Graduates are eligible to apply for graduate membership of Engineers Australia.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the yearly fee is $9,537 AUD, with a total course fee of $38,148 AUD. For international students, the indicative total fee is $47,320 AUD. A Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of $373 AUD (capped amount for 2026) also applies. Fees are estimates only and subject to change.
Yes, you can combine the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a second degree to gain diverse skills and graduate with two qualifications. Available double degree combinations include Engineering (Honours)/Computer Science, Engineering (Honours)/Business, Engineering (Honours)/Arts, Engineering (Honours)/Applied Innovation, Engineering (Honours)/Science, and Laws/Engineering (Honours).
Students have access to advanced facilities including the Trimble Technology Lab, Digital Construction Lab, Factory of the Future, Construction Simulation Hub, Applied Mechanics Hub, Siemens Swinburne Energy Transition Hub, Polymer Processing and Testing Lab, and specialised engineering labs relevant to each major. These facilities provide hands-on experience with the same tools and technologies used in industry.
