Common Questions
No prerequisites are required. The Bachelor of Engineering Science is specifically designed for students who are interested in engineering but don't yet meet the maths or physics prerequisites. The degree gives you a direct pathway by building strong foundations in maths, physics, programming and design from your first year.
You can specialise in one of six majors: Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Design and User Experience, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Sustainability Engineering. You choose your major after your first year, allowing you to explore core topics before committing to a specialisation.
Yes. Engineering Science graduates can transfer into an accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program for professional accreditation. Some majors are specifically designed as a pathway into the Engineering (Honours) program, while others allow you to graduate directly as a specialist, such as in Design and Customer Experience.
The Bachelor of Engineering Science is available at two campuses: Tonsley and Flinders' new City Campus in Adelaide. SATAC codes differ by campus — 214811 for Tonsley and 284341 for City — and some major-specific SATAC codes are also available for each location.
The guaranteed entry ATAR is 65.00. Alternatively, entry can be gained via a STAT score of 150.0, a GPA of 4.0, a TAFE/VET Certificate IV or above, or through pathway options such as a Science or Diploma in Arts qualification. There are no subject prerequisites or assumed knowledge requirements.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
